Going into Saturday afternoon’s game against Oklahoma State, Texas was already trailing the series 2–0. The Longhorns were only able to hit one ball in Thursday’s 15-0 loss while their 10-2 loss saw nine hits but only two runs, both coming in the ninth inning.
After evaluating his team’s strengths and weaknesses, Texas head coach David Pierce implemented some fielding changes Tuesday night in the Longhorns’ starting lineup. Bryce Reagan occupied second base while Turner Gauntt crouched behind Lamar hitters as the catcher. The changes proved to be successful, as the Longhorns beat Lamar 7-2 on Tuesday night.
