The No. 3 men’s golf team will travel to Georgia this weekend for the 3M Augusta Invitational. After a week off, the Longhorns return to the course seeking their fourth-consecutive team win. Meanwhile, Texas women’s tennis will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes this weekend for the first time in program history.
Longhorns fight from seven down to edge out Cougars. After a combined 26 hits and 25 runs, Texas defeated Houston, 13–12, Wednesday night to extend its win streak to a season-best six games and bring its record to 24–9.
Reaching the College World Series is not the goal for Texas. It’s an expectation. This team has enough talent to reach the College World Series for the 36th time in program history, and it very well might start with a strong showing in this weekend’s series at Oklahoma State.
Rick Barnes is gone from his post after 17 seasons with the Longhorns, leaving the head coaching position vacant. Texas immediately began the search for his replacement, which it could find within a week.
Despite a comeback win over Texas State, Garrido was visibly frustrated with the team’s performance. It was Texas’ second-straight midweek game in which they struggled, after last week’s extra-inning loss against UT-Arlington, 6–5.
