After receiving an “at-large” invitation, sophomore Aeriel Ellis participated in the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships this past weekend and was able to advance all the way to the semifinals.
Senior Ed Corrie and junior Jean Andersen had a strong showing at the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, and the other members of the team had a few mixed results at the Texas Invitational.
Texas was able to get away from Friday’s match with No. 6 Texas A&M with a tie, but the Longhorns will take much more than that going into Wednesday’s Big 12 tournament. The team showed once again it can play well against anyone in the country, and it’ll try to ride that confidence going into the tournament.
As a freshman, Austin Surhoff was Texas’ only individual winner and the top points scorer in the NCAA Championships, where the Longhorns captured their 10th NCAA title. After such a successful season, Surhoff looks to the future.
