The tweet comes a few days after head coach Charlie Strong said Fowler had reached the clearinghouse stage of his academic qualification process Saturday.
Fowler has been taking summer school classes and was originally thought to join Texas for the start of training camp. His mother told the Austin-American Statesman he will begin practicing once he passes his physical early this week.
The 6-foot-3, 233-pound freshman played at Manor High School and ranked as the nation’s No. 9 outside linebacker in ESPN300’s annual recruiting rankings. He arrives on the 40 Acres less than three weeks before Texas’s opening tilt with Notre Dame.
