Join folk-rock group The Gents for the first night of their 21+ November residency at Cheer Up Charlies. Preceding them are punk-grass band Outskirts, stomp-folk group Hello Wheels and roots band Von Stomper.

Every Wednesday, Third Base South Park Meadows sports bar hosts bingo night at 7:30 p.m. Drink specials are available, and there will be prizes for the winner.
Thursday, Nov. 5
Movies in the Park: The Dark Knight
- Where: Palm Park, 711 East 3rd St.
- Time: 7:30 p.m.–9 p.m.
The Movies in the Park series will end its season of free movie screenings a “The Dark Knight” at sunset in Palm Park. All ages are welcome to bring a picnic blanket or folding chair to enjoy the 2008 superhero drama.

Free Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament

Every week Oilcan Harry’s, a gay dance club, hosts a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament with cash prizes for the winner. Sign up at 6:30 p.m. and the game will kick off at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 7
Catastica: Disco Dance Party

Join Castica, the disco dance group, at cocktail bar, the Highball Saturday night at 10 p.m. DJ Diesel will open the show.

Rubber Room - Free Improv and Jam Session
- Where: The Institution Theater, 3708 Woodbury Dr.
- Time: 8 p.m.
Anyone is invited to join the instructors at The Institution Theater at 8 p.m. Saturday to practice your improv skills in a safe, no-pressure environment. A different theme will guide each week’s jam. A 30-minute show from The Faculty will follow each of the jam sessions.
